Three Layers, So You Can Line It Up Before You Commit
Most people assume a skin is something a shop has to put on for you. This one isn’t. The backing under a 3D textured mobile skin is split into two separate pieces instead of one sheet, so the adhesive stays covered while you position it. You place the skin on the back of your phone, line up the camera cutout with nothing stuck yet, and only then peel the first piece.
Position It Dry
Lay the skin on the back with both backing pieces still on and match the camera cutout. Nothing is stuck — straighten it as often as you like
Peel One Half
Holding your alignment, pull away the first piece and squeegee that half down from the middle outward
Slide the Second Out
Draw the remaining piece out from underneath and squeegee the rest the same way
Because you only ever work across one half at a time, air is pushed ahead of the squeegee and out of the edge instead of being trapped in the middle. That is the whole reason this build exists — and right up until you commit, you can lift the skin and straighten it.
If your phone’s edges curve, you’ll want a little heat
On a phone with flat edges, no heat is needed at all. If the back curves into the frame, warming the corners with a hair dryer, a heating pen or a heat gun lets the material shrink neatly around the bend instead of lifting. It takes a few seconds per corner and it’s the difference between an edge that stays down and one that peels.

Is it actually easy to put on, or will I ruin it?
This is the easy-application build, and it’s designed around exactly that worry. The backing is split into two separate pieces instead of one sheet, so you place the skin on your phone with the adhesive still covered, get the camera cutout lined up, and only then peel the first piece. You squeegee one half, slide the second piece out from underneath, and finish the other. Because you’re only ever working across half at a time, air gets pushed out of the edge instead of trapped in the middle — and until you commit, you can lift it and straighten it. A clear practice skin comes in every order so you can rehearse the whole thing first.
Do I need a heat gun or hair dryer?
Only if your phone’s edges curve. On a flat-edged phone you need nothing beyond what’s in the pack. If the back curves into the frame, a few seconds of warmth at each corner lets the material shrink around the bend instead of lifting — a hair dryer does the job, and a heating pen or heat gun gives you more control. Our 3M Premium skins are the ones that need heat every time; these don’t.
Can I use a case with it?
Yes, and these are the skins to do it with — they’re the thinnest we make, because the print is durable enough that no extra layer goes over it. A clear case works particularly well: the design still shows through, and the case takes the knocks. With a case on you won’t feel the texture directly, so if the tactile side is what you’re buying it for, try it bare for a while first.
Is the texture real, or just printed to look raised?
Real. The design is UV-printed and then embossed, giving about 0.12mm of actual relief you can feel with a fingertip. The print itself is matte and the raised texture is finished in gloss varnish, which is why the pattern catches the light while the flat areas stay glare-free.
Will the texture or the print wear off?
The embossed texture is hard-wearing and it’s rare for it to flatten out. The print is UV-cured and fade-resistant, but it is still a printed surface — colours can soften over months of heavy handling or constant direct sun. Keep it out of harsh chemicals and it will hold up well.
How do I clean it?
A slightly damp microfibre cloth. The texture is sealed and shrugs off everyday moisture, but skip solvents, sanitiser and anything abrasive — those attack the print rather than the texture.
Does it cover the whole phone?
It wraps the back and the sides, with cutouts for the camera and everything else that needs one. The screen isn’t covered — that’s what a screen protector is for, and ordering both together triggers our automatic bundle discount. If you need something adjusted, add a note at checkout when you order.
Can I take it off later without wrecking my phone?
Yes. It peels away cleanly and doesn’t leave adhesive behind. Warming it slightly makes removal easier, especially around curved edges. It’s a skin, though, not a case — it protects against scratches and scuffs, not drops.
